Women are already generating real AI value, but the missing piece is systems that capture, credit, and communicate that value to leadership.

Senior operators, mostly women in technology roles, focused on a recurring gap: valuable AI work is happening but goes unseen by leadership. One described a team building AI agents that executives had never been told about. The group agreed the issue is not adoption but attribution. Usage counts are easy; capturing the value generated and crediting the people behind it is hard. Several operators converged on communication as the fix. One shared a four-part frame for leadership updates: problem, AI usage, human contribution, and business outcome. Others stressed telling the stories of people who will not promote themselves. On enablement, operators described concrete mechanisms. One company runs a tiered program that starts mandatory AI training at the C-level, then VPs, before rolling out widely, and offers stages for learning, building, testing, and proving. Another keeps a running ledger of AI value, and a third starts a fresh ROI list each year. The through-line for executives: measure and communicate value, not just usage. Shadow AI work is common and should be surfaced and governed. Leaders should model AI fluency by training first. Simple, lightweight tracking beats heavy measurement systems. The people creating value need visibility to become recognized leaders of AI initiatives. Executives who build attribution and communication systems will retain talent and make better decisions about where AI is actually paying off.
