Operators say the bulk of AI value is organizational enablement work that stays invisible, and the people doing it rarely get credited.

Senior operators in this breakout reframed where AI value actually comes from. They argued the tool is a small part. The larger value lies in governance, data readiness, process redesign, adoption, workforce enablement, and translating ideas into organizational action. This work is often invisible and treated wrongly as an IT concern. A second theme was the gap between creating value and receiving credit for it. One advisor described leadership AI meetings where presenters skew male, not because women do less of the work, but because men more often volunteer to showcase it. The lesson: contribution and visibility are decoupled, and organizations tend to reward the latter. The group pushed self-advocacy as a leadership capability, not self-promotion, encouraging people to claim appropriate ownership while staying collaborative. They also urged removing the stigma around using AI. Leaders should feel pride, not shame, when AI accelerates their content, thinking, or lower-value tasks, freeing human capacity for higher-value work. For executives, the practical signals are clear. Measure AI value across the full enablement chain, not just deployment. Audit who presents wins versus who does the work. Normalize open AI use to surface real practice and speed diffusion. And connect visible wins to sponsorship, so credit converts into advancement, resources, and future roles. These are organizational and cultural moves, not technical ones.
