AI adoption inside organizations is producing an uneven recognition gap, where quiet enablement work goes uncredited while visible rollouts win attention.

Operators in this discussion focused on who gets seen and credited for AI work. One recurring observation was that women often apply AI to small, behind-the-scenes tasks while more visible AI wins, and the credit for them, go to others. Foundational enablement work, such as documentation and reusable templates that feed AI systems, was described as falling to women and being treated as routine rather than strategic. This raises a practical management question: how organizations track and reward who actually originates and shapes AI use. One operator argued for scoring AI on how it is used and who initiated it, not just on whether it was deployed. Adoption pressure is rising. An operator reported that the board of directors is now insisting on more AI integration, moving adoption from optional to mandated. Another flagged a generational divide, with older staff described as more resistant and younger staff more comfortable adopting AI, though this was a single view. Taken together, these observations point to a recognition and measurement problem. Firms measure deployment but not the quality of use or the people behind it. Executives responding to board mandates should build attribution and usage-quality into how they track AI, so credit follows contribution and change management meets people where they are. The signals here are early and drawn from one conversation, but they name a gap worth watching.
