Where formal governance is absent, teams lean on subject-matter experts as informal guardrails, accepting AI output at face value without systematic validation. The group reached consensus that AI governance should be a dedicated role, and new job categories like AI QA analysts and governance leads are appearing. On workforce, operators framed AI as a capacity multiplier as hiring slows, and stressed that broad adoption must precede meaningful measurement. Together these signals point to a gap between executive confidence and operational reality. The organizations that fund data readiness, name governance owners, and connect AI outcomes to financial statements will separate from those still measuring time saved.
